I encourage you to explore your out-of-network benefits. Many clients are able to seek and receive reimbursement from their insurance company for the fee related to therapy services.

Below are some questions you may want to ask your insurance provider:

• Have I met my deductible? If not, how much of my deductible have I met for my plan year?

• What is my out-of-network deductible for outpatient mental health? (Outpatient is the level of care I provide.)

• What is my out-of-network coinsurance for outpatient mental health? (Coinsurance is the percentage or amount that the individual and the insurance each pay.)

• Do I need a referral from an in-network provider such as my primary doctor to see someone out-of-network?

• How do I submit claim forms for reimbursement? (Claims are forms are sent to your insurance company to receive reimbursement for sessions you paid for out of pocket.)
